“Green” study courses for future eco-supporters

Many young people, even in Italy, have let themselves be carried away by the green wave that has been mounted in recent months. Following in the footsteps of what Greta Thunberg has done, they have poured into the square on more than one occasion to show the world how much the new generations care for the good of the planet.

There are many ways to defend the environment: one of these is to study the systems to actively protect our eco-system.

How to do it? By attending a ‘green’ degree course.

Here is a list of environmental, eco-sustainability and sustainable economic and territorial development degrees and masters:

Biology and ecology of the marine environment and sustainable use of its resources – Federico II University of Naples

The master’s degree in biology and ecology of the marine environment and sustainable use of its resources has as qualifying training objectives the preparation of master’s degrees who will have: an in-depth knowledge of marine biodiversity; a deep knowledge of the eco-physiological and eco-pathological responses of marine organisms; adequate knowledge of the physical-chemical and geological foundations of the dynamics of the marine environment; advanced knowledge of biomonitoring methods for the marine environment. To which are added adequate theoretical-practical skills in biomolecular applications related to marine organisms, in particular in the fields of pharmacology and biomedicine. As well as knowledge of IT and bioinformatics tools for data management and modeling.

Degree Course in Sustainable Agricultural Systems – University of Brescia

This three-year degree course aims to train agronomists who can create sustainable and efficient production solutions in the field of plant and animal production.

Environmental Engineering for Sustainable Development – La Sapienza University of Rome

Also in the field of engineering there are several green degrees, this in particular is a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering for Sustainable Development and aims to train a person with an analytical approach and a strongly interdisciplinary design approach , able to face the problems of environmental sustainability by combining the methods of civil engineering with those of industrial engineering and knowing how to live with the uncertainty deriving from the knowledge of complex systems, respecting the territory and with particular attention to sustainable development.

Economics of Energy and Environment – University of Ferrara

This three-year course of study has the aim of providing a vision of the economic systems and economic relations between businesses, individuals and the territory which is based on the awareness of the fundamental energy needs and environmental declinations of each individual or collective choice for the their satisfaction. Furthermore, particular attention is paid to the concept of “Environmental Footprint”, linked to Energy & Environmental Balance.

Agrotechnology for the environment and the territory – University of Milan Statale

In Milan, on the other hand, a very interesting course is that of Agrotechnology for the environment and the territory, a course that aims to train a graduate with an interdisciplinary preparation, who is able to apply agrotechnology to the many problems related to efficient and sustainable use. of natural resources, the physical planning and management of the territory and the environment, the containment of unwanted effects of agricultural activities on the environment.

Sciences and technologies for the environment and nature – University of Siena

The course born in Siena aims to train environmental and naturalistic experts capable of understanding and facing the environmental crisis afflicting our planet. It therefore provides the fundamental languages of the scientific disciplines and the most suitable skills to recognize the value of natural heritage through the description of animal and plant biodiversity.
