The main purpose of the MELT (Managing End of Life Tires), a project in Campania and developed by Geos along with casertana companies Energreenup S.r.l.con collaboration of DiSTABiF (Department of Science and Technology Biological and Environmental Pharmaceutical University of Campania “L . Vanvitelli “of Caserta) and T-Cycle Industries srl of Naples, it is to increase the value of a waste product with high environmental impact such as discarded tires (ELT) in order to improve the means of subsistence of the animals. Through the transformation of discarded rubber mats to be used in the agricultural context it is possible to improve the productivity of the animals.
The breeding of buffalo in the Italian context is an important economic reality, with more widespread in Campania, where the buffalo milk is essential for the production of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP, and therefore the protection of this type of farming practices play a vital socio-economic role
